   CHALLENGE: 3D Mock Up
From iSTVAN comes this great challenge. Pixel a 2D mock up for an existing 3D video game of your choice.

    Must be a real 3D game, not just a made up one. (Ref link in description)
    The main character and at least one enemy/opponent must be featured.
    3D game can be from any genre (eg. FPS, Racing, RPG etc).
    Canvas Size: 180x120 OR 360x240 horizontal.
    Colour restrictions: 32
    No transparency
    Animations not allowed.
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	i dont want to miss this challenge. So with all the pain in my arm i shall try to do this. My idea : a side scroller version of metal gear solid. solide snake is snaeking up behind a guard in a box.

	I'm considering doing one of my favourite games of yester years, Twinsen's Odyssey. I might alter the gameplay as well, and make it a platformer. We'll see.

	Great topic, but I'm afraid I won't have enough time because of school. I barely managed to create something for the last challenge.. But we'll see, it would be pity not to participate in this one, especially when I never did any mock up before and I really want to try one.. (btw. I'm really starting to hate the university studies, I have even less time than my already working mates..)

	Damn 32 colors... I've barely finished the background and its already at 32. 32 colors for a mockup is quite tight, considering sprites, background, UI and all...( i know some old consoles had less, but come on we've got the technology, might as well use it!)

Technology = 3d = anti challenge.. I think 32 colors is more than enaugh if you reuse your sprite colors for your background etc. well enaugh.. If thats too hard for you, take a set palette. take a wide one from someone else, or a standard one.. for example the half ega palette (upper or lower half) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:6-bit_RGB_uniform_palette_with_black_borders.svg or mix 2 weird 16 color palettes from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_palettes Results could be wicked and great, especially with your skills!

	But Prince of Persia has a 2D version already! ( worst : the 2D version was the first one). I think you should try something else. An idea: Black and White (maybe a little bit too hard, but it's a wonderful game!)

	by the way there is already a 2d version of halo called halo zero http://images.google.com.qa/images?q=halo+zero&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi im pretty sure its officl coz a lot of work has been put into it and plus the bungie logo pops up at the begining. 	Halo Zero is 100% unofficial. It started out as a fan project called Halo Blood Covenant, then that got abandoned and some French guy took over and finished it off, last time I checked he was also making a sequel. So Halo is free. Assassin's Creed would be cool. As would crackdown. Viva Pinata maybe.

I think it can, the rules don't say anything about it having to be a specific perspective. Most old rpgs are in "fake 3d" but they are still 2d
