Thanks for your comment WreX. While I understand where you are coming from (and in fact the piece did look a lot like your edit at a certain point), I made a concious decison to scrap that and to allow the lighter blue to dominate. Letting myself have more fun with the piece, just going wherever the texturing took me. Now if I had more time I would've pushed the values in the immediate bg cliffs darker, rather than the far background as in your edit which I think overly flattens it instead. There are aspects that bother me about that part of the scene but more in terms of shape and design, simply no time to go over it a third time before christmas though. But I appreciate the feedback.

I like dark dungeons, weird knights, studs, spikes, witchcraft, sorcery, landsknecht style mercenary outfits, rotten atmospheres, detailed sprites, tiles, unique palettes, cursed items, helmets, towers, abondoned machinery, ruins, lil houses, mollusc spirals, strange doors, crustacean creatures, tunnels, statues, wires, fucked up tanks, horned beetles, scythes, bizarre skulls, secrets, lottsa lil guys.
