Yeah I think they changed the system during Pixelween 2021 when there suddenly was 250+ weekly entries one week. Glad I never had to work with the old system, sounds like a nightmare to coordinate.

If you want to see the new system "in action", just wait a few minutes and hit a hard reset, and you'll see a different set of entries under "new pixel art" (it's randomized on the client side, but simply). Unless the last check only held 6 pieces, but then you'll see a different arrangement of those six.

This seemed like a fairly straightforward monster sprite at first glance, but the more I look at it the more I realize that it's very good. The goopiness is so well drawn. The next time I need to draw something of a similar texture/concistency I need to study this piece under a microscope to find out how you did it.
