Sidewalk Chalk Art

News Details

The title says it all. Check out this amazing artist's chiaroscuro work. Oooooh, chiaroscuro... that's the kind of vocabulary a couple of years of art school will buy. Money well spent.

actually, the artist that was at Stampede (Calgary) showed his process.
He would originally draw the image as if it was flat like a real picture. Not at that funky angle.
Then he would use that as reference. He would take another paper with all his guidlines and such, and redraw it skewed. For all i know he coulda used a computer to skew his image.
But originally it is drawn normal.

I've seen these before.  They must take a ton of knowledge of perspective.

They had a sidewalk thing in Savannah, Georgia when I was attending school there.  Some amazing artists produced great pieces, but I never saw anything like these.

I saw them for real afew years ago.

I live in calgary so we have the Calgary Stampede (if anyone has herd of it), and i dont know if it was this guy, but there was an artist who did this style of chalk drawing. it was awsome.
