I've probably seen the original Back to the Future movie more times any other movie. It was the first movie we owned on VHS and it was years before we bought another tape. Imagine my suprise when I read that the Michael J. Fox role Marty McFly was originally played by Eric Stoltz (Mask, Pulp Fiction, 2 Days in the Valley). The crazy part is that they filmed 6 weeks (6 f**cking weeks!) with Eric Stoltz.
This is obviously very old news, but it just blows my mind to think about anyone besides Michael J. Fox playing Marty.
Unbelievable.. And yeah man... Crazy to think that Stolz had the balls to keep on after such a fiasco :D
And it's sure surreal to think of ANYONE in the world other than Michael J Fox playing this role... It's like they're synonymous...
I can't imagine how disappointed Stoltz must have been. It's one thing not to get the part... it's something quite different to get the part and have two legendary filmmakers (Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis) tell you that you suck. Oof, so painful.
