Alan Moore's classic Watchmen comic is coming to the big screen and director Zack Snyder is determined to keep the 1985 setting (with Richard Nixon as US President) intact for the film adaptation. Huzzah!

I do fear slightly that the story can't be told in a film. I also don't have overwhelming faith in the director/script writer. I think it would be nice to know that Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons were involved. It would be a sorry state of affairs if the film disappointed those new to the story, because I can't see them picking up the book after that.

Yeah, I'm stoked for this one.  It's such a treat to see all these comic book movies getting made nowadays. Maybe someday Groo the Wanderer and Usagi Yojimbo will get their own movies/shows and a Zeck-style Punisher cartoon for dessert.

Not in the alternate world of the Watchmen. I can't wait to see this, I love the book, especially the Comedian.
