YouTube has announced plans to start paying users for submitting original movies.
"We are getting an audience large enough where we have an opportunity to support creativity, to foster creativity through sharing revenue with our users," Hurley said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. "So in the coming months, we are going to be opening that up."
No price has been set, yet. But perhaps this is the chance for some quick money if you are crafty with your camera.

Of course it's nice to get some cash for yuor vids but...
All I can say is iI REALLY hope it doesn't turn into a bitter-ass place like Threadless.com. Money can indeed ruin it, or at least change it not in the best way

this isn't that much of a good idea. before we know it we'll have a lot of idiots making half-assed movies just for money instead of what all youtube vids are and better off as which is just for the hell of it and also fame.i also have a feeling this is going to bring along a lot of legal matters between youtube users so this is just going to turn into a corporate tv system like the whole site tries to get away from

lol, i could rant all day about these new "punk" bands. they make one album (1 burned cd) with 4 songs, then make a damn myspace page and spam the hell out of peoples comments and get all emo about not making it big.
my brother has been pounding the pavement for years. they have multiple albums which the paid for, plays every other night, and even pushed their way into playing at the warped tour a few years back, nd they STILL dont have any record deals...
