Ever work with a really bad palette? Here is your chance to push your skills to the limit.

Rules:

Pixel anything you want... An animal, monster, your mom, a car...
Animations allowed, but not required.
Colors: 8 colors, NO transparency is allowed, and you MUST use ALL the colors
Size: EXACTLY 128 by 128

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

I think part of the success here is the open-ended theme, coupled with a small pallete and canvas... but I never thought it'd be this big of a hit :P

Percival I dont think you screwed it up. Sometimes it just happenes that a lot of ppl don't have time or energy, all at the same time. I for example liked the challenge but was too tied up to participate.

Grave, me too. It's EASIER not to have to come up with a theme, but then again, easy things are usually worthless. And I like tight restrictions, isn't pixelling all about getting the most out of restrictions in the first place? I ESPECIALLY like the must use all colors and exact size bits.

Also, the colors turned out to be pretty great, and the quality of the entries proves it.

Unlike some other people. I like it much more when a challange is about a restriction rather than a theme :)

We're all new to the "weekly challenge" thing so it's hard to say what kinds of challenges will get people motivated.

The lack of participation in game mockup challenge was probably due to the ambitious nature of a full web mockup... that might be a little bit more than most people can handle in a single week, but honestly I think we're all just guessing.

It's my fault, I screwed up with the other challenge!

I tried to let it as free as possible in the hope that people with all kind of level skills could participate, but the "restrictions" got confuse and the result was quite the opposite. My bad.

oh my.. the craziest part is using ALL the colors.. I actually tried doing a quick something in PS, but I quickly forfeited it to save my eyes from falling out lol.

Yes, does make things a little harder.. but nice idea for this.
