Ok people, I am getting VERY sick of repeating myself. So I am making a post, and this is EVERYONE's one and only warning.
DO NOT post the link changing URL. Period. It is not funny, it is not a prank... It is immature and idiotic.

Is it allowed to post an avatar changing link that is not misleading? Like for example direct linking Dopplegangers avatar birth pice and stating that the link will change your avatar. I'll probably not do anythying like this but would like to clear it beforehand in any case.

wtf? who do you think you are talking to? i know this isnt some site holding your social security number and credit card info. i know the internet isnt safe, i have been using it since google started and you could only get books from amazon.the whole point of this is that it is annoying, as leel said. i cant believe i have to fucking repeat myself over and over again on this issue. is it that hard to get into your head to not exploit the site and its flaws?

Metaru, the point is just that it's annoying and not funny, not that it threatens the safety of those poor and helpless online. I've seen someone ask people to stop posting the av-changing links at least twice before, and yet people keep doing it. Wtf? Obviously people need to be careful what they click at all times, but that doesn't mean people should post annoying shit like that :D

Ens, the internet is not safe by nature. mean, its pixel joint, not your Pay Pal account = security is equal to yourself reading a contract before signing it. now is the avatar change thing. then it could the favourites link, then who know what thing it could be.in resume: its not allowed to post any kind of malicious hyperlink. but you also have to check. at least take that second to see where the link will take you, mkay? it would not be funny that a noob posted a link to some grotesque stuff that we don't want to see.

Yes, we are silly.I really don't see what the big deal is. Every time I accidentally clicked on one of those stupid links, I just went back to my gallery and changed it back to my original avatar. It took like what... a whole 5 seconds. They were only links to change people's avatars, it's not like they were links to trojans or spyware. Sure it's annoying, but I really don't mind it... too much.

There are ways how to prevent these things from happening.. using forms instead of hyperlinks for changing avatars.. but it would need to rebuild some parts of this website, so I guess it's simpler just to tell people not to post such links instead of rebuilding pj :-)

When i made the same childish prank to Jal in the chatterbox, and Ens got caught, I told him the same thing that Leel said below. all i got was "I don't have to check what i'm going to click on PixelJoint".so, in the end, from now on, there's no excuse. everyone has been warned. if anyone tries something silly, you'll face Ens's Fatality.

All you have to do to avoid silly traps is move your cursor over the link, and see where it leads to in the status bar. THEN decide if you wanna click it.Silly peoples

the avatar changing links can be found on any submission page. So...If you go Here and click the link that says 'Use for Avatar' it would change your avatar to that image. I guess ppl were probably just posting the links and not telling ppl what the links did.

no, it was other members doing it. and i have warned many times not to do it.the offender who got his account deleted because he created over 30 shell accounts to get higher ratings.
i did delete the comments that had avatar changing links in them, however. tell you guys what though, the next time someone posts porn or links that fuck with your account in the chatterbox, i will make sure they dont get removed, i would hate to be disruptive by removing them. (that was sarcasm, fyi)

They deleted the offending user's account. I think the disappearance of his comments is a side effect rather than a treatment.But yeah, in general I agree.
