@Christoballs, if you don't already know what its for you will surely be dissappointed. Its really just the theme that's was supposed to be a mystery.
Too bad Frost. There will always be next time.
Also, good luck competitors!
I actually made another palette today. Funny enough, I made this palette in 45 minutes, and my one for the challenge I made in about 5 hours 0_O
I wish I could enter this one instead:

I just want the results and to find out what the comp is about already D:
So many problems would have been solved with just one more color. x_x
Palette is basically done, now on to drawing something with it for an example...
@jalonso: I definitely see your point. But it still gives the competition/judging a random feel. I guess most things remain subjective, in the end.
@offwhite, The reason the project theme is kept from participants is two-fold.
1- It doesn't sway the creative process in producing a 'smart/workable' palette. Because color palette development is tough for most these comps are more of a learning exercise or at least they should help take away the fear and oftentimes frustration with colors and pixelart.
2- It makes it far easier to judge and choose the winners this way. So many good palettes are sure to be entered but if the colors don't suit the theme well it makes it far easier to weed thru the entries. We do test the entries to find a winner that works all-around such as Dawnbringer managed to do in the last palette comp. Additionally, it makes it simpler to choose the winners. For example, if the theme is 'forest', then those palettes that have plenty of options with greens and browns would best a palette that leans too heavily to yellows and blues. However, because all colors work everywhere and there is no 'wrong' we do want to see palettes that are well designed and have plenty of options so creativity is not hampered too much, if at all.
* Its colors, so it will always remain subjective*
I'm a bit confused. We're supposed to make a palette that would work well on an predefined project theme, at least it will be judged by that. But we're not supposed to know what the theme is. Doesn't that seems a bit counterproductive?
@TropicalSnowcone: www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp should be of some help :)
I wasnt sure where to ask this so I came here as it pertains to the color palette comp. I have never posted a pic or wip so was wondering how I go about posting it on the forum?
Woah, 20 colours. I usually use like 4. This is definetely not my bag of peanuts but I'll give it a go. Pretending like I'm submitting something outstanding.
how i am suposed to choose colors if all i do is pick them apart from other places, mean come on
True, choosing is at least as hard as making a good one.
Which colors do I add? Which do I leave out? The inner debate rages. ;_;
*exchanges one green for one blue* @_@
'Twas done last time we had a palette contest, so why not this time, eh?
EDIT: OP ~ While I may not be good with palettes, I wanna try this out.
I just mean that it is even more complicated if everybody can submit more then one
More than 1 submission is cool...justremember that quality is better than quantity.
I guess it will be very difficult to choose the winner.
And one question: Is it allowed to submit more then one palette?
Yes, all you have to do is create a colour palette and submit it to the forum thread.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
How am I sopposed to find the numbers for my collors? No everybody uses gimp or photoshop or whateva.
It is only my color palette? That's all you need? I'm confused.
Yay! Palettes and another chance to win the "Thumb"! :D
[MAD SCIENTIST AT WORK]Maybe 20 colors is enough for testing if a ellipsoid-helical-HSL palette could work...hmmm...nah, you'd need multiple helices to cover saturation levels...[/MAD SCIENTIST AT WORK]
I like colors ^__^
-I just noticed the forum thread link isn't really a link.
yes, I know :p I was just really dissatisfied with my entry, so I decided to try and see if I could make a better one... I think I succeeded
