• The winning palette will be used on PJs next collab project. If you submit a palette you acknowledge that it will be used by others for the purpose of this project and credit may not be posted by participants if they submit their project piece to their gallery but you will get overall credit for it. These palettes are not to be considered art so no adding to your galleries. Its best to assume that others may use your palette beyond this project. By entering you are giving permission to all.

I actually made another palette today. Funny enough, I made this palette in 45 minutes, and my one for the challenge I made in about 5 hours 0_O

@jalonso: I definitely see your point. But it still gives the competition/judging a random feel. I guess most things remain subjective, in the end.
@offwhite, The reason the project theme is kept from participants is two-fold.
1- It doesn't sway the creative process in producing a 'smart/workable' palette. Because color palette development is tough for most these comps are more of a learning exercise or at least they should help take away the fear and oftentimes frustration with colors and pixelart.
2- It makes it far easier to judge and choose the winners this way. So many good palettes are sure to be entered but if the colors don't suit the theme well it makes it far easier to weed thru the entries. We do test the entries to find a winner that works all-around such as Dawnbringer managed to do in the last palette comp. Additionally, it makes it simpler to choose the winners. For example, if the theme is 'forest', then those palettes that have plenty of options with greens and browns would best a palette that leans too heavily to yellows and blues. However, because all colors work everywhere and there is no 'wrong' we do want to see palettes that are well designed and have plenty of options so creativity is not hampered too much, if at all.

I'm a bit confused. We're supposed to make a palette that would work well on an predefined project theme, at least it will be judged by that. But we're not supposed to know what the theme is. Doesn't that seems a bit counterproductive?

I wasnt sure where to ask this so I came here as it pertains to the color palette comp. I have never posted a pic or wip so was wondering how I go about posting it on the forum?
Woah, 20 colours. I usually use like 4. This is definetely not my bag of peanuts but I'll give it a go. Pretending like I'm submitting something outstanding.

More than 1 submission is cool...justremember that quality is better than quantity.
I guess it will be very difficult to choose the winner.

Yes, all you have to do is create a colour palette and submit it to the forum thread.
