Never heard of APNG before.. I'll look that up.

I always called it gif with a hard G.. interesting to know it was intended as gif with a J sound.

 GIF is the format we all know and love, but personally I would love to see APNG take it over in the future.

 good choice jal. I got caught by the title: it's a good effort, it's a step-motion animation, it's about the GIF format and ... it's not actually using it, which is odd as you have noticed.

I will encourage you to write to the authors and say.. where's the GIF format in your video? :)

 It isn't even in 256 colour. Not a bit of horrid GIF dithering to be seen.
