This week, you have to face a colour that stands for so many things. Love, blood, danger and "The Moscow–Washington" hotline.
Just some simple shades of red would be too easy for all you pixel pushers out there though. That's why you have to deal with not very pleasing greys, blues and greens.
There are no restrictions. However, make sure you incorporate that pesky red! My polite looking ork friend serves as an example.
Canvas Size - Max. 300x300
Colours - Exactly 4, the colors in the sample image #141725 #4e6058 #858d83 #f00a0a
Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
Thanks SoloSalsero, this was not a challenge I wrote so even I wasn't so sure but it makes sense, editing the news item.
This is because it's a manually entered challenge to overwrite the existing one which stalled for 2 weeks with one entry.
It's happening again: the way to find this discussion is from the main page and scroll down to find the topic (Pixel Art Challenge: Up for a challenge?), but if I enter from the navigation menu Features > Challengues (Weekly!) the discussion doesn't appear
Why are you so confused?
Make a pixel art piece of any theme (300px x 300px max.), with the exact palette of 4 colors that appears in the sample image:
#141725
#4e6058
#858d83
#f00a0a
I feel conflicted over the statements, "Just some simple shades of red would be too easy ... you have to deal with not very pleasing greys, blues and greens." and "There are no restrictions. However, make sure you incorporate that pesky red!"
Are we using the entire palette from the example image? Do we only have to include that one red color in the example image, with any three others? Do the other three colors have to be, by definition, one blue, one green and one grey?
edit: Does it have to be a face we pixel? Like the example image. Or, are we unrestricted in what we pixel?
So the challenge is to pixel a face with those colours? Or is there also something else?
@SolaSero: fixed. Manual challenges do not naturally get tagged as challenge posts; there is an extra step that is usually automated.
