It's MerMay everyone! This week's challenge, brought to you by Mirre, is to make a protagonist and an antagonist that are merpeople (ex: mermaids, mermen, sirens, selkies, etc).
Taking inspiration from games such as Stardew Valley and CrossCode,
design a dialogue portrait/bust for one protagonist, and one antagonist. Each portrait
80x96px using one of the provided palettes, no mixing the palettes between them. You have to use palette
MERFOLK11-1 for one portrait and
MERFOLK11-2 for the other portrait.
Adding a few pixel wide or transparent frame to each portrait is allowed.
Canvas Size - Exactly 160x96px horizontal (two portraits of 80x96px).
Colors - Max 22 (using both of the provided palettes - one for each portrait).
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - No.
Yes, the thumbnail is a form of presentation of the piece and it is not limited by the challenge rules. Super flashy preview can give you an advantage during the voting, so it is most fair play to make it attractive far beyond the rules, only after the vote has ended, or at least give it a description that "animation is not a part of the challenge", to be sure not to mislead users who are new to PJ or could not yet understand all about how challenges work. However this is only your decision, since there are no rules about it to my knowledge.
