| I've just thought of something, how about a collab where it starts with one Oriental style building, and slowly becomes a whole Oriental landscape? This could include anywhere from India to Japan. Here's my example: A bit amatureish, but...I be amateur. Edited by El Moppo - 09 September 2006 at 1:56pm | |

Rather than lines, i think the idea would have to involve a battered up car sprite, being reformed by other artists. Otherwise you might aswel just post in the lines den. Also, they shouldn't be AA'd, and i'd use reference, doesn't look like a car atall.

Something Interesting....
I was watching Doctor Who and a thought struck.... What would Mankind look like after 2,000 years of evolution? On this thought I revisted the artwork of Wayne Barlow....probably
one of the best artists there is when it comes to alien anatomy and I
figured hey.... Might make a pretty challenging pixel art contest... Edited by NMEwithin - 11 January 2007 at 5:18am

| I have been trying to think of a new collaboration idea... well I came up with a idea for a community Pixel Joint fish tank where you can pixelate any fish you want doesn't matter it doesn't have to be realistic and put it in the fish tank. Hopefully people will participate and we will have a huge aquarium full of cool unique fish! Please give me some feedback on if it would be a good idea

Can i just say, 2,000 years of evolution would create practically no genetic difference. 20,000,000 maybe.. Although, after 2,000 years we'll probs be all cyborgs. :)

| Yea, we won't evolve physically in the next 2000 years. You need natural selection in order to evolve, and since we're not in a state of nature anymore there's no survival of the fittest. Most everyone's basic needs are met. That is if we stay civilized, but I  guess it's quite possible we'll be back in the jungle after WWIII.  If there is any jungle left.. How about a "model railroad" collab? Alot of model railroad clubs have "modular" layouts that have all modules built to a certain size. It'd be pretty neat if we could come up with our own "digital" model railroad. *ISO would be awesome *A standard tileset for the track/rails would be a must *One "guage" of track. | |

I was watching THE GREAT BLUE BALL MACHINE and thought, hey, why not do something like that as a huge collab project? http://blueballfixed.ytmnd.com/ (the pixel art in it is basic, but its just to show the idea) We put down a large grid, we divide it randomly. Each "puzzle piece" has a package entry and exit point. Each participant has 16 frames of animation (maybe less) to get the package from one machine end to the other. In the end, we put all parts together, and it should flawlessly animate. That would rule. Then we put a background and whoo! impressive work! I think we should do some sort of animation colab.
Maby a platform sprite. We pick a character and people can make him do whatever they want him to.We can do the same with some monsters/enemies. Or a fighting sprite,we just let people animate some attacks ect. Or we can let everyone make his own fighter+attacks (but something like that has been done before on pixelation I think..) Anyway, animation is new and most people that can't animate that well will learn from it

dragonrc: well actually. exactly what you said has been done on pixelation. altho it was many years ago.
But i still think it is a good idea. But first thing that has to be done is get someone really good. to make a great looking sprite, that is still simple enought to animate for less experienced artists.

I'll post an image of a quick rendition of what a bunch of different modules look like... The track would have to sit at the same spot on modules unless you do a bunch of them together so that you could have the proper transitions. Much like how modern "modular model railroads" are designed where track may be 3" on center from the edge, etc. here's the "modules"... We could scale them up as needed, or use really tiny track.

i have an idea, or a suggestion for a collaboration project...
imagine if, say, 30 or so pixel artist contributed a sprite or two to a game. now im not saying that it hasn't been done before, but it's pretty rare to ACTUALLY successfully pull off a large-scale collabroation project, especially a game... theres a game studio out there that specializes in that kinda thing. freeware, large-scale pixel collaboration type stuff. check the site if you want to know more. Oh, but its very important to me that my posts aren't just looked as at me trying to promote something, so my idea for a collaboration project is that if a bunch of pixel artist contributed sprites to a game... in particular, a vertical shooter game, like raiden... again, check the website. thanks, fellas. Someone draws a basic, flat shaded and undetailed animation of a house rotating, in like 20 frames or so. Random people take a single frame of the animation, and decorate it in their own way and shading style. In the end, its put back in one piece for everyone to enjoy. Howzdat!

| @ Christopher: We allready have a t-shirt collab.. My idea: One bick train.. Some1 makes a nice old carriage template, and every1 colors/edits that, and we put them all together to something nice :) We could do small carriage's (100 with) or large carriages... (300 with) The template should be side view.. Example: That was just a 3 sec sketch, but I am willing to create a template if people are intrested :) | |
