First of all, my most brazilian greetings to all.
My name is Daniel Ximenes Ribeiro and I'm from - hold your breath for the surprise - Brazil. More specifically, from Rio de Janeiro. Any jokes about bananas, carnaval or sexual tourism will be taken in account, together with your name and possibly adress, for future undercover murder operations.
I'm assuming if you took some of your precious time to get to this point, you really want to know something about me, so here goes nothing =)
I started to mess around with pixels when I was very very young. About 7 years old. I did it in a very personal - and some would say 'completely insane and possibly dangerous' - way. I would stare with my children eyes to the gameboy screen, playing Dragon Warrior Monsters and Pokémon, and one I noticed that there were little squares on the screen...
Voilá! I opened my PAINTBRUSH - as I used to do sometimes, but to make common drawings - in my fantastic Windows 3.11 and started COUNTING the damn pixels - a name I didn't know by them - and replicating them in the monitor to make almost perfect replicas of the characters.
Later on, I stumbled upon RPG Maker, and my perfectionism - one of my strongest traits - made me miss original characters. None from the original package would fulfill my demands. So I came back to making pixelart using simple templates. The things started to escalate and now, here I am.
I like to think of pixel art as an interesting medium for making ideas visible. Since I'm not very good at freehand drawing (you can check out my deviantART) , playing with pixels gives me just the amount of control I need to bring my crazy concepts to life.
Well, that's me, I guess. ^^

DanielHyaku @ 11/7/2009 11:49:51 AM commented on The Ugly Duck The AA looks kinda strange on the inside. Looks like the duck is detached from the background. I think it's very funny though hahah | |
