 | THE KAPPTIN @ 9/14/2007 2:08:50 PM commented on Various Monsters I like 'em. The skeleton is my favourite, esp. his face & shield. The little blue dinosaur is cool, in a pokemon-y kind off way. The slime, i would like it to be a little more shiny and maybe higher saturation to fit in with the other sprites (if you're going to put it in the same image).

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 8/7/2007 1:26:55 PM commented on Paper Mario Smithy I just looked at a couple screenshots from the game, and the white definitely seems white in them. Regardless of "imitations" or whatever that you want to take from the game, brighter colours would simply make this piece look better.
Nice to see the "real" Mario RPG get some love.... :D

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 7/20/2007 11:06:34 PM commented on Unarmed Skellobit Man, I just got caught up on the mudkipz meme like two days ago...
It's interesting bringing such a smooth, low-res sprite like the skellobit into a large size like this, and doing it in pixels. The counter-productivity of the combination of subject and media is just fun really.

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 7/20/2007 11:02:46 PM commented on Bulbasaur Bulbasaur! Excellent choice of subject matter. I would have liked to see the "bulb" part though; I think it "should" actually stick up into the frame.

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 7/13/2007 9:07:40 PM commented on Second Creature Wow, on my first reading I thought it said that due to their exceedingly dense bones, they are very happy. That didn't make any sense. No, this comment isn't useful...

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 7/13/2007 9:06:44 PM commented on Lurch Aw, I thought the preview was going to be the image. The preview image is great! Inspiring. The pixel itself is nice, but the somewhat random-looking shine on the red areas throws me off. The gold looks great. But it took me a while to notice from looking at the red. I think the red needs more contrast and needs to follow a more predictable pattern. Anyway, looks nice.

 | THE KAPPTIN @ 6/25/2007 4:32:07 PM commented on Game Walker Personally I think he looks a tad jaunty for the hardened, monster-fighting warrior I imagine he's intended to be. His eyes look happy, he keeps his back very straight and he has a certain spring in his step.
