Gil @ 1/31/2009 6:33:50 AM commented on Big Bird I totally need to post new art.I made like tons of art lately. I totally want to sleep though. I just woke up too.
Gil @ 1/31/2009 6:27:22 AM commented on Disgaea RO Sprites I understand better what you mean now Metaru. You are right that more spread of ramps would be better, but as said, it kinda defeats the RO "style" I guess.
Gil @ 1/30/2009 12:56:28 PM commented on Disgaea RO Sprites I'd love to see you make an edit with less colors that looks equally good without merging ramps together.

Gil @ 1/30/2009 7:44:12 AM commented on Disgaea RO Sprites Metaru, not all PA needs super low colors. In most of my art I use over 30 colors for small sprites. There is nothing wrong with that? These look delicious
Gil @ 1/29/2009 8:34:32 PM commented on Big Bird I'd like to point out to the discussion below that your definition of index painting is totally and utterly incorrect.Index painting is a form of pixeling where you use a complex pixel program such as Dpaint, which has darken/lighten brushes, blur brushes and auto-AA, but it all stays within a certain fixed palette. It has nothing to do with reducing and at no point in the process of index painting is anything reduced ever. Although some tasks are automated, index painting is usually done with pixel perfect detail and lots of the accepted and praised pieces on PJ are actually index painted.

Gil @ 1/26/2009 3:19:12 PM commented on alisha Figure study, as in drawing from reference or life. Try looking at the link I posted and the videos and try doing something like that daily. It will improve your pixeling tremendously...
Gil @ 1/26/2009 12:57:38 PM commented on Ford Mustang Style (Anim) The car seems to shrink and grow a little and I don't like the dithering on the hood. Also, the shading on the windows are pretty random. Also, lots of AA is needed on the white stripes. Lots of jiggles there

Gil @ 1/23/2009 10:35:28 AM commented on Big Bird I have an idea for a challenge, where do I take it for consideration? Or do I have to win one of the challenges for suggesting it?
Gil @ 1/22/2009 9:50:06 PM commented on alisha While this piece is a big improvement and progression for your art, I suggest you do it more and more, since you are lacking in figure study. Try practicing drawing the human form first and after you get comfortable (usually a year should do it, if done regularly), try adding shading to the mix.http://www.posemaniacs.com/pose/thirtysecond.html It can only benefit your art in the long run :)
