Those 'hills' in the back could blend better, imo. Maybe if you made them more blue and a tad brighter.Love how the bad guys all have the same eyes.

eh, it's still an awesome improvement over the previous (which was already awesome) but I can't help but feel like this is just a trickled-down version of what it -should- be; ie, the photoshopped background which I think goes much better with the graphics than this seemingly tagged on one. I like the tan cloud bubbles but I can't help but feel the green hills and the zaggy sky is there not for the purpose of creating the scene but strictly so it can be accepted.It's not really something you can help, I just wish people didn't freak out over admitted NPA when that's the way it should be. Art shouldn't be sacrificed for the unbending sake of purism.

Hey, I'm planning to make a game kind of like this. Are you interested?!! I imagine you do not know HOW to make a game, I do not know as well, I have a friend over at dA (deviantArt) and he's made 2 games for me, well, we've done it, I do the pixel part, and he does the rest. What do you think?!! He offered kind of a pkmn game. I don't know. Just tell me what you think, you pixel very well as well.

I dunno. This does nothing for me at all. It all just looks far too basic and simple and I know that's part of your style but I'm starting to feel like it's all looking sorta unfinished and rushed. Maybe my tastes are just changing and this simple japanese looking stuff just doesn't appeal to me anymore. It's technically well done I guess.

meh. its not a gradient, but a painting of clouds.kirby GBA has the same type of backgrounds, so i really dont see a problem with it.
but i guess a matter of taste.

Ignoring the gradientage, this is a nice piece. Though, I think those pink things in the background should sort of fade into the background more to imply distance.

As stated it is a mockup screen for a GBA game idea, lets not forget that real GBA games use manipulated bitmaps from Photoshop or other art packages as backgrounds and even intro screens sometimes, though usually with some colour reduction, so I really do not see the problem here.
The rest of the scene is all hand pixelled and if I may say, Pixelled very well indeed.
In conclusion, maybe Kennethfejer should have submitted the sprite pixels for the characters seperately, but for the sake of a mockup scene I think that the sky adds to the realism of the whole piece, it just needs the ammount of colours used reduced a little bit.

O em gee, take this down! The background is obviously not pixel art and so it should not be on this site! Even if the vast majority of this is hand-pixeled the fact that you would sink so low as to use a gradient means that it doesn't deserve to be showcased at this pixel art site. Seriously, what were you thinking?I like the effect you put on the trees, but it seems sort of out of place in comparison with the rest of the scene.

It'd be lame to remove it based on an assumed technicality.Anyway, I really like this, your simplistic style has always appealed to me. I love how functional your mockups look. The bottom status bar showing what I assume to be the progress through the level is what really sealed the deal for me as far as it looking like a true game. I still wish you'd made a real Kid Icarus fangame from those mockups a while back.

I for one don't care about the background (if GBA/DS allows for high-color bitmaps, then why not?). The rest is great.There are some parts in the outlines I don't like (esp. the darker line on one of the hills in the far back, near the signpost), but I guess it's a part of your style and it'd be hard to adjust it.
