Simple. Because these don't look natural. Oh, and I don't like how you used bronze color on the stones. It seems out of place. Same with outline breaking.

Yeah, the middle one is quite superb. I think there's some problems with perspective for the 1st and 3rd ones though, as to me it seems they're a slab, with spheres next to it, in a straight-on view, rather than inkeeping with the middle one's perspective. If that makes sense.

These are great. I especially like the stone in the middle I can really get a good perception of it's shape and texture.

The middle one does look like some petrified monster.. It's a cool side effect, you could experiment with that theme and make some stone creatures...
I dunno why people are so hard on the tree, it looks just like a tree from some jRPG actually, at least that's what I think :D
