Thanks to big brother for giving me loads of advice and tips while updating this dragon rider, especially on the colour choices. Your help has been immense.
Something I took from my bigger scene, I changed (tried to improve) a lot. I kept the drawing and detail the same. Change the colours and depth. I removed a lot of the redness.
Well, it definately is done well, but for some reason, the wings seem in a strange, awkward location. It'd be better if they were a little more equal to the body's axes.
Made a couple of last colour changes . Does that look better Wolverine? Once again, wanna say thanks for bb's assistance in helping me with my palettes.
Great work, but I think that the sky seems to be an odd ocean. The wings and the tail seems to be in the same plane. I paint the dragon tail in a bit paler tones to create a third perspective plane in the character: plane 1: the dragon head and the demon, plane2: the dragon body and plane 3: the tail. But is a really great work in the end. CARRY ON, boy!!!
I like the general artwork here but I don't like the colors much at all. The one I have a problem with most is that murky brown. To me it flattens the image as it doesn't seem quite dark enough to work as a darktone to the red next to it and makes it look a lot like one of my many failed attempts at painting when I was at school. Has that dirty paint water look about it. The pink tone used to highlight areas just seems a bit offputting compared to the red too.
