Made for that tugs competition at pixeltendo. I sort of like the tiles so I may go back and use them for something else, not really a big monkeyball fan though.

Great palette, and excellent tiles. This could have been improved with a better bg, though you won anyway, so that's cool.
The only thing that really bugs me is how the horizontal beams don't really blend into the other tiles very well. It can be seen especially in the part where the slope starts.
Haha yes I see what you mean. Unfortunately the limitations were Super Grafx-16 and it had to be something monkeyball. I didn't have the time to concieve a pixelart so I went with the flow of the competition and did a mockup. I had an urge for platform tiles and I figured ah what the heck.
I do plan to reuse these tiles and make more of different areas and program some with it, but I realize the limitations it would give if I left it a monkeyball game.
The thing i don't get is the point behind platform-style monkeyball. It ruins the whole concept of the game. you can't go OB unless you fall in a pit, and you aren't tilting the ground, really... (not on as many axis' , at least.)
@exocet/ceddo: Yeah the background was really an afterthought. OSL, my competitor, didn't even make an entry and I had homework to do so didn't really have any more time to put into the product. Scruffs had insisted I at least aa the mountains as well but too busy. :P
Looks good, I like the colours as well. The background looks a bit plain though, I have the feeling you could add more details there without making the picture look confused.
