finally submitting this one.. yes it's an homage to steve purcells ingenious monkey island (no need to post references everybody knows =) started around xmas 2005 as entry for the pixel competition of the pirate themed tum2005 demoparty.. only submitted a very unfinished party-version there (see http://www.piexeln.de/pics/tomic-wie_passend_du_kaempfst_wie_eine_kuh!_party.png), nevertheless got 1st price =P this (pre)final version was done over the last weeks.. kinda 99% finished, i might invest a few minutes into the bone at the bottom right and into the waterfall behind guybrush working stages (312!) can be found here: http://www.piexeln.de/pics/tomic-wiepassend_stepsanim_fast.gif thanx to ben2theedge for the hint concerning the ship floating over guybrush's head / the sword EDIT: added a little splash on the waterfall.. the 100th fav edition =P EDIT²: edit in the waterfall-area again: added some waves this time reference: hell, no =D tools: grafx2

Really a beautiful piece, so well pixelled, the memoreis, blah, blah,blah.
I'm most fascinated by your choice of icon for this piece. I have come to notice that you are one of the few around here who gives thought to these matters. Perhaps it was an area that was the most challenging to pixel or is your fave in game area. I find several other areas that would have sold this far more effectively. Its nitpicking and slightly retarded but I wonder...

It's about damn time you submitted this, Tomic. I was kinda angry no one was givin' this the lovin' it deserved at pixelation. Although some parts still seem slightly unfinished, like Guy's left hand, and the strange way the pirate's eye patch seems to melt into the brow of his skin, I would call it quits with this. Also, it kinda feels like you couldn't come up with anything to fill the negative space directly underneath his left arm, so you just made a little stick figure, for filler.
However, It's fine as is.I loved it then, and i love it now. And now, finally, I can fav' it.
