Out of curiosity because I'm seeing a striking resemblance, could the Gazer from Breath of Fire 3 have been an inspiration? The eye palette is strikingly similar.
Not that that's a bad thing, it's a gorgeous sprite - both yours and the gazer.
Nice RPG monster!
(To people wondering) I could be very wrong, but I think the shadow looks the way it does because it is designed to sit on top of a water tile. When you do that, esp. if you are designing an RPG or ORPG, it looks really nice.
Nintendo did that a LOT when they designed the original Zelda games, and it's a clever method of shading.
Good job, Badassbill!

I think Frankie was just parodying Fossil. What's eating you this time, Foss?
I think it's nice, but I still say you should ditch the dithered shadow for a flat color.
fossil: people enjoy this so they're giving it a high rating. Get over it. Honestly how does this affect you in the slightest?
keep it up bab ;)
psh, always blaming me for everything, someone had to stop programming to =P
It was, but at the time I had no idea what the sprite was called or what it was from.
