I'm making the graphics for a Wonder Boy in Monster World remake, in the early stages of the tiles and sprites.

I'm going to completely remake the large mushroom, and maybe the chimney.

I agree with Adarias about the clashing styles (though not so sure about the direction to choose). I'm not really a fan of the ground and the vegetation on the top. Without them the scene looks much better. The rooftop looks a bit empty, I' add a few lines for minor detail. Not so sure about the outline on the right side of the roof, it's the only outline in the bg. Why?

Anyway a great piece, I hope to see more of this project.

there's a real clash of rendering styles, but each individual thing looks v nice.  if you were to choose a single direction to take things, i would say the bricks are the best region

I was thinking more of an indie game, easier to get a coder.

But I'm making the tiles and sprites fit in 32x32, so idk.
