I havent pixeled for a whiiile now, but my internet connection didnt work for couple of days so I had to do somthing, so I decided to make this Hitman piece, it is supposed to represent myself, I aint bald tho lol.. but I think I got the effect I wanted, it got 23 colors, I could take the color count even lower but I didnt thought that was needed, I really really like the result, do you? Come on Hitman movie and the game fans, give some props :D As I have noticed in comments, many people say that the background looks like color reduce, maybe I created that look but I just want to point out that it isnt any color reduce, I manually made the whole piece.. Really great stuff you've got here :) I would work on the high lights on the cloth, As they are a little jarring. Also, I do not think you have to justify yourself whether you did color reduce or not, while I don't believe that you did, it doesn't matter. The end result is effective, and the whole pixel puritan movement/mentality is rather silly. If you have a technique which can be used to improve a piece, or make things quicker, go for it. After all, hatching and cross-hatching wouldn't exist if artists didn't have a need for a quicker end result... Eh I'm just ranting really. 6/6 and fav. :)

Yes but I never do any progress animations, and I didnt even had on 100th thought that someone would accuse it for something its not :S And who am I proving to after all :S If you dont like it beat it :))

... Thanx bro, but can you please check the progress right under I got link, and If you have seen this piece yesterday you would see that there was only half of the pic, I made the rest today.. So NO, it is not color reduced :S.. How more would you like me to prove it then I alredy did :/.. But Thanx, Appriciate it :)))

The character is awesome, and so is the pic as a whole, but that background does look like something color reduced. It looks a lot like the result of an ice texture I made for a quick effect using color reduction. I don't think doing that is despicable by itself, it can save a lot of time, but it simply doesn't have its place on a gallery that demonstrate pixel art skill.

Thanks :) Yesterday I decided to make the other hand holding gun, pointing in other direction.. since Hitman allways wear two guns :) It will look cool, I have alredy started :)

@tomic: it's not spraycan. the texture has direction and too much detail compared to the rest of the pic. it's a color reduced photo, most probably. The face is 'referenced' from the pic jamon posted, quite obviously, and the body is also probably referenced, cause we can see in the rest of the gallery what skills BJ has. Plus, he has more 'controversial' pieces in his gallery as well.

Seems all pretty clear to me.

noone can sell me that the background was *pixeled* (every pixel was placed by hand).. smells like color-reduction ~~or - at least - like spraycan-tool..~~

No offense is meant BJ, just some posed some questions is all.
If you know it is pixelart then just explain yourself. Some pieces do merit questioning without it meaning an attack. This happens sometimes.

I really dont know why you guys brings this up becouse I dont understand a single shit you are telling me, what is not pixel by pixel?? What is so confusing about it? The background is really simple made, first of all it was half finished becouse I made it last year for some menu of mine, but never used it, so I decided to edit it to fit this piece and use it here, its like 5 layers of different colors on top of eachother, started first with very bright purple then to darker to get higher contrast then changed colors to the ones i got now, first made one layer, whole wall colored in brighterst color, then onother a bit darker layer on top of it, first started rought with 3 and 4 px pen, then changed to one px and broke those lines out, then another darker on top of it, not everywhere, just there it needs to create a bit deph or damaged look.. then another one and another.. Some areas was being copied ad begining, for example group of dots and smaller marks, which I then after edited. So what is confusing? And I am not delete it with no reason, I worked hard making this :S

Will BJ please explain how IT IS all pixelart. Please explain so that no question lingers about it.
If any section/part, no matter how small is not 'one pixel at a time' or tool usage please remove right away. Remember, its your reputation that's at stake.

haha damn thats scary, that really looks like its the same photo but you resized it and such right? well i said i used some photos for head reference but non i could point out, I didnt used that one but its kinda scary since its almost the same angle! but what do you mean blur on background? I look at your older pictures and this one.. and i just say that your progress is unbelievable ... example pic before this one...

i think that for background you are used some kind of smoth or blur effect right ? :)

Wow. That's very good. The only part that bothers me is the collar of the white shirt on his left side. It seems like it's sticking out oddly. But I love the colors you use, and the lineart (especially the face!) is awesome. If you look anything like this guy in real life then you are quite the badass, by the way.

On the dark theme I use the BG + AA is poor looking.
Maybe this needs a full BG. Very nice!!!

PS: We tend to just add 4 at a time so all art gets front page exposure for a bit. Sometimes it just takes a bit to add, k :)

I preferred the white background. I use a darker theme, and this looks rough on it.
Even quality stuff sometimes takes a while to get through the queue. Various reasons.

Well, as I said in description I could lower color count much more, for example that dark green, lightest colors and maybe find 1 new color that will replace 2 other ones, but I just kind of liked what I got in result, but green is there becouse the suit was reflecting green in beginning, now its a bit bluish.. I could change it, but still like I said I like how it looks atm :D the reference, well I looked most on Hitman screenshots and the movie for some details, looked at 007 too, mostly for the suit, I used some references for the gun, nothing particulary I could point out, but its a Deagle gun. Also used reference for the face from some of my own photos :) Thank you :)

I don't understand the use of the dark green anywhere.

The lineart is ace, did you use any reference?
The face is really smooth too.
