Some backgrounds from an 8-bit NES-style shooter I worked on.  The NES has a very challenging (but fun) palette to work with...  Top image has 15 colours, the bottom two have 12 (and yes, I reused/recoloured part of the mountain bg to make my holiday card, last year ;p ).

I like the middle one best, I can see some old-school looking ships shooting canons at each other in some kind of video game for sure

Oh very cool! Especially the first background looks very gamey and even reminds me abit about the "Navy Seals" game on Amiga.
