Great pixels. Very realistic shading. 
The animation is also good. I find the sword and the cloak a bit hard-edged though...

There was a first person dungeon crawling RPG on NES ( i think it was Japanese-made) but I can't remember the name of it. This looks like it would fit perfectly into a sequel for it, as the motion and style are spot on. I really like this!

Looks good. I agree, good key frames can be better than poor key frames tweened.

Really nice work on the armor's shadow/highlights. The brown you used accents the red and grays pretty well, too.

Anyway, great job on the shading, and even with the low frame count, everything is very well done, and the animations read fine.
