lol I had so much fun pasting this into paint and just swapping colors to see the changes. Incredible stuff man, epic job.
It makes me sad that this isn't a real game. Go make it!
You and all who worked on this have skills. Keep up the awesome work and I hope to see you in the new contest.
Wow!!! So many details, cant wait for the GBA version, jeje. Amazing job!
Really well done, hard to say anything negative or CC :/ Excellent.
I saw this in the forum. I was really impressed by the concept, particularly. Nice work, Jalonso! I particularly like the rat.
Am NOT surprised by this winning first place. Fantastic interpretation of Bosch.
When GB stroke my country was still actualy behind Iron curtain so I dont know: are there actually any existing games for GB with this level of graphic awesomness ?
(or would it be even possible, considering memory, sprite and cartridge limitations etc ?)
I... would... friggin'... play... this... till... the... bitter... end...
Give!!!
realy nice indeed, realy loved the style and exceptional detailing, 5!
Absolutely beautiful. 4 colors and 160x144 just doesn't get much better than this.
Oh, I see ![]()
Well, this is cool with me. I actually made a real tileset to work with and honestly the paintings pretty much tell you what is needed and all characters are there with many to spare. I could have made 20 screens, one for each year.
TBH, this was weirdly easy because the ref material did all the thinking for me, the paintings already DO look like RPGs.
I can't program anything but will help you make such a game...especially if its a small mini quest.
* Thx all. With special thanks to Adarias for the great compliment.
Quote Flarfy: "(Psst... I think
That's a big 10-4. Too bad I'm afraid to tell him I wanna code it/work with this dude, hehe... ![]()
Quote Flarfy again: "I smell win!"
That smell has also penerated my window, the art is freaking awesome!
That looks so extremely nice!
That you can make it this detailed with only 4 colors, lovely!
Dude... that's so awesome. The idea in itself is awesome, and it translates to gameboy format like... perfectly.
Seeing something like this makes me angry!
...that I can't produce anything like this, how hard I try. Beeing as good as you are must be some kind of felony?
But as a contra attack I can program a game using the graphics. ![]()
But if you say that you can do so as well, I'll kill myself.
This already has more favorites than some in the hall of fame.
but thats because its great
WINZORZ!!!! I love the lil old dude with magic swirlies above...
@Jal..
You KNOW I was kidding you talented termite!!!
Ohh wow, this is realy awsome. I especialy like the "shop" with the wizard in it.
Wow ultra finest !
I make a RPG game to for this challenge, that will be hard... lol
Front page in how many hours?
The water (?) in the second one doesn't really look like water. If it isn't meant to be, ignore me :D
Bravo, your an inspiration to all of us. And is this game for sale??
Win.
would have been a top seller, back in the day. Awesome job.
definitely has my vote! its good to see something new coming from you ;)
probably some of your best work ever, just saying.
Someone REALLY enjoyed this challenge:)
Middle right screen shot is my favourite. Excellent work Mr. Jal:)
@dumbo, this would never happen! I do hope you don't think this is true. This challenge was in fact a bit of a last minute thrown together thing when several chatterbox comments last week were about a mockup challenge and then one Mod said its was GB 20th Aniv.
@ All others, thank you, especially DrD
I think you've been working on this for months actually. Now that I look at it again. I'll bet you even came up with this challenge idea... HUH!!!
You sly bug, you!!!

Amazing idea and pixeling. I wish it was real. ![]()
3 awesome new screens! I love all of them.
And like I told you before, I'd play this so hard.
You've got my vote.
New rats look nice btw.
I love this!
Hieronymus Bosch's work has always fascinated me :D
Very detailed graphics :)
and interesting source of inspiration, different.
Hieronymus Bosch is my father's favourite painter :)
Holy smokes! This is on it's own level. Goodluck other entrants, bahaha. You even used 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' as reference, noice!
There goes my chance of winning.
btw this is really good, I love how the rats look. they're perfect.
although the white hollow monster looks a bit weird in the leg area.
I think this is enough. I had good surprise when I see so many interesting details :)
always I'm envy for your productivity :)
Holy crap! Awesome! ![]()
If I didn't know any better I'd be asking where I can find a copy. ![]()
Thats' awesomely sweet *_* kudos for the ultra effort to make 9 (!) screens :o
I gave up when I saw your preview
I love Bosch and you've got my vote.
What's with the new preview? Haha.
