Interesting piece. Love how you've done the small branches, very stylised.
Very nice form of capillary action. Very simple though (which was probably your intention).
I could see a sky and if no sky then snow. Maybe even a broken limb.
Nice. Trees in winter are really beautiful; I miss them. I used to live somewhere cold and now I don't anymore. I think this would be cool in a game sort of like Knytt, if you've ever played that.
That bird totally owns its 8 pixels! Love the tree too, of course :)
Thanks for comments and fav's!
@ ska: thanks a lot for the advice! Seems obvious now, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Negative space, whatever it is, is on top of my learning list from now.
I see that Skamocore beat me to what I was going to say.
Canvas size aside, this is stellar--really, really pretty.
The tree seems a bit crammed into the canvas. I think this would work a lot better with a composition overhaul, if you're not restricted by a canvas size. Have a look at this piece in terms of negative space; it might be a bit extreme, but it's something to think about.
Anyway, love the colours (especially the spash of red of the bird) and the scan-line dithering.
Digging the tree. I'm not really reading the pixels on the end there as branches, but it looks cool nevertheless. Great job!
This is realy neat
