I haven't read the comics I'm affraid grave, but as I described in the above comments, I was undecided on him being a younger Mario or son of Mario/Peach, in fact I kinda ditched both of those ideas, now I think of him as an alternate universe Mario.
Not that it would ever happen, but if there were a game, I imagine the Mario that we know and this version fighting together against Bowser and his equally alternate version too!!
Like the description says, Teen mario, son of Mario Hey maybe even alternate reality Mario......
I agree Mario as we know and love him, should be fat with a tache, but not as a teen methinks!!
I was trying to go for a completely different angle on this peice!
ThanX 4 the comments!!
Thank you Souly for your comment, but you do notneed to stand up for me as I do not wish for your actions, however genuine, to incite a flame war on Pixeljoint, obviously Mutantenemy is not a pixel pusher of the constructive kind, never mind he may learn yet, in the meantime if you intend to bother me with your comments, Mutantenemy then I am affraid I have rather more pressing issues in my life than worring about what little you have to say. enough people seem to like what I do and to be honest even if they don't then I can take constructive criticism as good as the next guy, but please don't try to flame me, I am sure that kind of behaviour is frowned upon here and furthermore I shall not stoop to your level!!
This is the last I shall say on the matter and I opologize to Sedge for this little outburst, but I cannot abide time wasters who have nothing usefull to say!! Sorry Sedge!!
I was going for a pre moustache era, depicted here he is only a teen, maybe a bum fluff goatie would work, but I like him facially bald!!
As for toad, I wanted him a little more disturbing than the original, hence the deep set beedy eyes and the low, wide grimmace, not so cutesy!!
I will redo the eye and try to fix the glow on the glove!!
I think the eye still looks weird because the bottom line curves up, then down, then up again, like a flattened M. It really should just curve up, like an upside-down U. Where's his moustace, though? He should at least have a goatee.
Anyway, great job on the design, and the pants.
Yeah Sedge they are stubby, good job he doesn't live in the real world then....eh?
In the mushroom kindom arms aren't so important, you never need to hold weapons, just jump on your enemies heads!! (Drinking tea could pose a problem though!!) (And Rubik's cubes!!)
Toads arms are a little stubby... hard to function in the real world with so little reach.
Your interpretation of Mario is really a kick. Very styling outfit and spiffy pose. Really nice work putting together the vest and shirt and making that hat look trendy. Mario's eye looks a bit off to me, but I can't put my finger on it.
Awesome
