Loved that manga. Anyway, I don't do many game-art type sprites, but I like to think this one's pretty solid. Maybe too much dithering going on. 11 colours, no tricks, but there was scan reference cleaned and used. Luckily the reference was a pic of my own so I'm not a thief, eh?

I haven't seen the manga, but I'm not much into those. Very very solid indeed, the shading and form is perfect, I think. I would probably be inclined to say the level of dithering does breakup smoothness.
