After all the trouble Following gave me, this was refreshingly easy. The Exorcist, obviously, based on the scene from the movie captured here: http://cf.drafthouse.com/_uploads/galleries/4645/exorcist.jpeg However, I used an actual screenshot and not this poster. I would've uploaded it too and put it here but GIMP crashed at an inopportune time and I don't feel like finding the shot again.
I know the yellow is probably unnecessary, but I think my color count was low enough to allow something that frivolous, and I think it adds atmosphere and harkens back to the scene better. Unlike the movie poster I gave as ref here, in my image the streetlamp WASN'T yellow like the window, so that was intentional.
Intended for viewing at 4x, 5 colors, maybe an hour and a half at most to do, crits are encouraged but major ones will most likely not be incorporated(give 'em anyway, learning experience and all).
Next one will probably be with skin texture again, much to my chagrin. Oh well. Until next time!
EDIT: Oh, just saw that there's a couple black pixels hiding as my darkest blue. They don't intrude, I'll replace them later. They must've hid out when I switched the BG from black to dark blue. |
I like this a lot. Great atmosphere.
