i love the palette but i think the design could of been better. had to fav this just so i could look back at it for an inspiring palette.
Yeah, I've seen it a couple times, but this is noticeably more refined than the last time you used it. You don't use it much, and it's pretty opposite of what you usually do (fluid/wavy vs rigid/blocky, hard outlines vs solid blocks, saturated vs only medium saturated etc) so it's great to see variance from time to time - it keeps the mind flexible.
And yeah, I was talkin' mostly about Saturation and how, used improperly, bright, bold, saturated colors can burn the eyes or, worse, swallow surrounding detail. Your pieces use a lot of bright colors that somehow harmonize, so I used them as an example of using them properly (I came to the conclusion that the solution comes from keeping most colors relatively similar in saturation to keep them from eating each other and to stick to low doses of high-saturation colors that give a lot of bang for their buck). I also talked about happip as well.
But this is def. a good piece. Something to maybe note is that, at 1x view, several of the green pixels interspersed into the yellow get swallowed up by it - they become visible again at higher zoom levels, but at higher zoom levels they aren't as important in establishing the scene. Just a thought, I don't think that's actually a problem.
oh wow thanks so much everyone!
@kaze19th- I don't think it's just you, actually. I kind of made him all twisty and bendy on purpose.
@Ego- Haha, really? I've done this style a few times, but I suppose it's a bit few and far between.
This isn't related to your piece, but I can't WAIT to see your entry for this week's challenge.
Yeah, I actually didn't recognize this as yours at first! Pretty different on the surface from your regular work, but lookin' at it it's definitely got your styling in it (dog teeth, buildings, esp. posing). Nice job tryin' something different from your normal type, branching out is way good and it worked out here for sure.
And, like usual, your color selection is made of gold. Totally used your colors from a couple pieces to help explain some color theory a couple weeks ago.
Strange style... Now go on and make an animation of this dog!
I'll take some fernch fries plz!
Very stylish colors, you're doing great as always
I like the style and the colors, but I don't know why, each time I look at the guy I have the impression his arms are not in the good sens (As if he had his head turned at 180°, but the legs are in the other sens). Anyway it's certainly just me, I like the style, especially the dog ^^
nice hot dogs
i like clouds too :)
