Shadow of the tree says noon, shadows of the rocks say 4 pm. A definite improvement, still unsure about the canvas shape.
Thanks so much for the kind words and the help! I totally see what your saying, I'll definitely try fix this up over the weekend!
Indeed, I like it too. My first instinct was to call the treetop unrefined, but after looking and seeing the careful AA I realized it was intentionally a kind of painterly style, and it looks good.
The part that I think still needs the most work is the rocks the roots are growing over. You have a lot of really tiny AA colors in there, unlike the rest of the piece where the colors are preserved and all used quite significantly. The plethora of colors used in a relatively small space means that it winds up with a slightly muddier look than the very stylized rest of the piece. Additionally, a lof of it doesn't make a ton of sense for how those dark greens are showing up on the even darker rock - they wouldn't really show since they're in shadow.
The only other spot I can really think of as lookin' wonky is here: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/maxdxam/LoupTreeHelp_zps68512af5.png
That central branch has a somewhat pillow-shade-y look. Perhaps the branch just really is shaped to catch the light dead on, but I'd suggest doing it differently just to avoid that look anyway.
Hope that helps some, lovin' the look of this!
I really like it! The colors are my favorite part.
