Create a comic that uses exactly one word. It can be used in a speech bubble, a sound effect, a street sign, anything; as long as there is only one single word. It must be a legible and hand pixeled word in English. Loan words are acceptable; for example you may use "Aloha" as your word.
Also, no concealing extra words.
The comic must have at least 3 panels.
Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Unrestricted.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - No.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
Just make sure you enter it before yesterday, or it'll be late for the challenge
oh, true. hmm, i might make a new comic with the same character then :)
Old work can't be submitted to challenges. Reason being it could give a considerable leg-up on everyone else who has to start from scratch.
can i enter an old comic of mine? i think it fits the rules? 3 panels 1 word no anim? I know glomp isn't really a real word, but at least it's not an abbreviation like LOL :)
Can i use the word repeatedly? As in
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM
just for the record =) all 4 have demoscene-background and one is a convictable cheater.
anyways guys. i just dismissed my idea of "legen.." + "..dary" in favour of some large-canvas, non-challenge boob-pixeling (stay tuned on that =) feel free to pick it up. barney stinson ftw
*edit: there actually much more members listed, but i guess most of them are pain's fake-accounts ;D
Dammit! Just noticed animation isn't allowed. There goes my idea out the window... D:
Back to the drawing board I guess :(
LOL and ROFL are abreviations of words...you are a Psychopath, Lollige
Quit confusing the poor pixelers
>=(
The comic must have text, the text must only be used to form one word, that one word must be a "legible and hand pixeled word in English"
That is all. anything else is allowed. Curse you people for making this more complicated than it really is.
dogmeat man, what was that for...? you shouldn't label serbians as cheaters and indexers just because one or two of them came from the demoscene days and joined PJ only to get banned
anyways, might enter this if i get around to feeling better :V
Oh and one more thing...things like LOL, ROFL, PWNED are not words...
Fail and Owned are fine, though ;P
Pretty much what Cure said D :
Just make it clear that it's one word.
Well this wasn't my idea, so don't go listenin' to me either. We'll let skamocore decide : D
I'm thinking that might be stretching it a bit tomic, as I would of thought that having 2 speech bubbles would still be two seperate words - even if it is to make up one word. But if this is possibly allowed, it would be good to know.
Edit: Just read ThereIsNoCure reply, so ignore me and pixel on:)
Good question. I don't see why not, so long as people don't abuse it by breaking up a compound word.
dogmeat, that was stupid. but i already got used to it.
'interesting' challenge. just quickly: can the one word be distributed to 2 bubbles? like "legen.." + 2nd panel + "..dary" ?
inb4 "FAIL" "OWNED" "PWNED" "LOL" "ROFL" stripes.
And as far as comics go...comics do not always mean funny. I'm sure some beatifully drawn action secnes would be cool too.
I really enjoy these challenges that have huge differences between important parts.
For example, this weeks challenge fits to that condition too. I believe my pixel art was quite good, but the animation part was done much better by a lot of other people!
I really like thisone for its animation (and even voted for it), but than again the pixel art itself is not too good.
Thats what makes the challenge interesting, and that is just the same what makes this challenge interesting, and then at last that is the reason why I am wondered who is going to win :).
XD you're wondering who's going to win already? Let's just wait for some entries first.
I really wonder who is going to win. The one with the best joke or the one with the best pixel art!
nop just one instance of a word. Now go make something awesome.
Holy crap do I ever love this idea. I probably won't enter, but I definitely have fun thinking of ideas and putting down sketches anyhow.
ah yes. good observation. that's exactly the reason why I didn't partake in a signle PJ challenge yet lol.
