I'm mostly a 3d artist. I used blender for the animation and video sequencing.

The animation is about how the external world influences our internal self. Yase Onna is a Kaubki character that never reaches Nirvana because she is damaged and heartbroken.

I agree that some PJ rules seem rigid. It might feel unjust when an art piece you don't see as pixel art gets accepted into the gallery. However, I think that there should be some leeway when it comes to an artistically valuable piece, such as this, vs. an oekaki scribble of one's favorite anime character.

On the other hand, we only get to see the end results and it can be hard to prove what tools and shortcuts were used, if any. If one were to simply crop a certain part of this image, would it suddenly 'become' pixel art?

I appreciate how polished and deliberate your art is!

Amazing! This is what a remake of an old school game should look like. Unfortunately, I guess it's way cheaper to just stick with bland 3d.

Nice.

Instead of making the secondary weapons invulnerable, you can make it so that if they are hit they also take damage, but have a seperate healthbar. They would get hit more often, which punishes unskilled gameplay, but allows a skilled player to just bust through the enemies with hard hitting secondary weapons.

Just a random suggestion, I think it would be a unique game mechanic.

I love it, it perfectly sums up the current state of the gaming industry. (though I don't know whether that's a message you wanted to convey)

Thanks, I do plan to fix a lot of things as soon as I have time.

I love the vibrant colors, a lot of pixel art I see nowadays has great line art, but a washed-out palette that doesn’t leave a statement. You do use a lot of similar colors, I would consider using a smaller palette, but that’s just preference. Other than nitpicking over the thigh-to-calf ratio, you might want to rotate the left hand outward, though that’s a minor detail.

I especially like the sword design, it reminds me a bit of the Monado from Xenoblade chronicles.

I’ve never played Under Night In-Birth, but I used to love the Melty Blood series.

Congrats, great work!
