You gotta be joking. At first glance it looks like a PHOTOGRAPH!

That is ace work if it really is pixelled. actually, the left down corner looks like the most clearly pixelled part so... I guess it really is.... Good work.

Oh... Well I guess it could still pass as a kind of warning light that rotates inside the pod.

It's not a bad start, but try rounding it up a bit and adding texture.

*spoiler alert* Reminds me of Margaret from One Piece. Must be because it is her.

Terveisiä vain toiselta Tampereen puolelta. :P Vaikka kilpailu meni jo niin taidan silti antaa vähän kritiikkiä...
Lyhyesti sanottuna: Pää on mielestäni liian edessä, ikään kuin kirahvilla. Jos jaksat siihen enää koskea niin...
Mutta joo.
Ps. Nimi "BlazeAce" on kamalan tuttu... Oletkos Assemblyillä ollut ehkä?

Edit: Jatkossa kommentoin sitten englanniksi että ei huolta.

Going to comment in english in future so no worries.

Not bad, but some antialiasing could really do wonders to it. The red colour really needs more shades by the way. Eyes should be deep and captivating, not so flat and bland. The animation might be a bit fast too... Add a bit more delay between the blinks. It's  a good solid basework still.

Dundundunn... Same thing as for your other stuff, remove line art and add some more shading. It's a good start nonetheless.

Nice use of textures there, good job.

That looks much better already, now just remove the linearts and shade the edges, then try some different dithering styles to get clearer texture into the hair.

Hmm'kays.... The face is really out of proportions, and the back part is really too small. You could add transparent background. It would be useful.

Might wanna fix the name. It's beetle, not beatle. beatle doesn't mean anything, that's why beatles originally used that name. Othervise it looks pretty great. That rotating lightsource just frustates me though.

Heh, that just reminded me that I have to find my pocket fighters for PSX again.

Looks much better now, but the darkest orange stands out quite a bit. Maybe you could try to blend it a bit more with the central oranges, maybe even adding one more shade there. But it is definitely much better than before. The heart of the fire is great.

Edit: Also the fading darkness could be more smooth... Maybe use a different style of shading it. Right now it has that rough smudgy style dithering. Try using the crossdithering style for it.
Y'know... Like this:

Maybe. I do mostly flash games so I gotta get over vector graphics and try making a raster game. Care to give me some critique on my MK2 hovertank too?

Hmm, it's not bad, but try to remove the lineart and add some dithering to the hair and maybe clothes. Also the nose needs a reworking.

The dithering style is truly interesting, good job. I am aries by the way.

I think you should dither the flame too... Right now it looks like... a light orb. Fire just feels rougher than that to me.

Here I am again... Yeah, I was going to ask if you had any other pieces that are related to steampunk?

user
AtomicTroop @ 12/25/2008 14:36 commented on Steampunk
I agree with Jaeden here. Steampunk should be light, victorian era style, maybe a bit elegant even. Cogs, tophats, clocks etc. are must of course. You (dogmeat) are probably confusing this all with cyberpunk. At least I see cyberpunk as, *ahem*, "dark, really leathery and really techno-y".
Also, this part about "1800's representation of steampunk".... Steampunk IS present inventions with victorian technology. It IS set in victorian era. Unless, of course, you might be taken apart from this version of steampunk because of Dystopia and others liek(not a typo) that.

Now that I made this clear... after a bit of thinking, I really consider this more of being clockwork punk than steampunk. Of course, clockwork punk is a subgroup of steampunk so it is also steampunk while it is clockwork punk.... Meh, that was a boring post to write.

Ahh, I just love everything steampunk. The test tubes are a nice touch,  but her right hand seems a bit weird with those blue lines. Might want to try fixing that.
