It is very adorable. Nice clean lines. There is a bit of banding and pillow shading but maybe that was part of the sticker style you were going for.

Banding, Jaggies, Random pixel placement. Hair almost looks like a spraycan effect or careless pencil tool drawing.

The lines could be a bit more refined.

If this is your take on 1984 then I love it.

In your post you talk about your worries about the small canvas size. Where I feel like your jack in box sprite took up a lot of the space, I believe you could of made him smaller.

I think you should recreate him smaller and smaller just for your own study to see how much you can keep the idea without losing his most important features. You will learn a lot this way.

Also I understand you didn't have much time to finish but it would be great to see some more shading.

I can tell that you really care a lot about your line work, it is very neat. I would suggest not to use black to shade under his neck, it makes the line look displeasing there, instead you should of just used colour to show that there is a shadow there instead of thickening the line.

Also you don't need to use black to outline the features INSIDE the sprite. For example, the yellow collar around his neck has many black verticle lines going down. Instead of using black there, use orange or a darker yellow, something other than black. But if they are frilly parts that are sticking out then light would hit it and instead should be a lighter colour. You just got to think about the light when outlining with colour.

Nice work, I voted for you. I hope you win. I am just wondering why you didn't outline your sprites? They blend into the background a lot, especially the hoods on the hooded guards. Maybe that is your style idk.
