is this really in the hall of fame??

don't mean to be a hater, not my style... but i don't agree this should be so praised. The proportions are bad, the shading isn't that good either, the composition and pose aren't that good either..

compare it to the rest of hall of fame pieces, and you will see the difference.

definitely a good start, but it needs a lot of work.

Epix, i did see that too, but hadn't addressed it yet. In fact more than addressing mistakes at this point, what i'm doing is coming up with different styles and proportions, to decide for one. And when that is done i wil go fully into refining and stylizing everything.

but yes, i agree with your comment about the torso. Actually i tried moving the upper torso down 2 pixels and it looks much better.

About the eyes.. well there is not much space left if i want to keep a "realistic" illustration aproach. The head is kind of small at this size, so there isn't a lot of real estate to get too detailed with the eyes. I did get the expression i wanted though, so i'm happy with them.

I will keep working on this on my spare time (which is very little) and will post stuff to show.  :)

it's only that i don't agree on the fact that they look unfinished... As you say on your post, he is showing lineart, but maybe its because its just that.

after, you contradict when stating that you'd also like to see them finished...

that's the point, maybe they are finished.

anyway, it's only personal opinions about it.  :)

why do you say they are unfinished?? only the author can say if they are unfinished...

he may have wanted to portray them like that, and thats it...

i'm sprry but i disagree with all of you.

Why do all pixel art pieces have to look the same? I think the shading is cool, because it is flat. This piece has a lot of personality, especially because it is a little different, And it is powerful because of the black outlines.

it is true that there is a little perspective problem, and maybe the pink cannons colud be a little reworked, but, otherwise i think it looks cool. I don't feel it is unfinished.
