Thanks for the feedback and comments!

Thanks, Steven! I guess that’s because of my limited palette and hence more contrast. I wanted to give the road a little more structure but I was a bit afraid it would shift the onlooker’s point of view too much away from the man. And yes, he turned out a bit bigger than in the original and I only realized it when I was almost finished. I thought a lot about this guy and the situation as I was working on the piece and I guess that biased me a bit.

thanks feiss! Well, I pushed some single pixels around on the tanks but most of the time I was happy with what I got so far and it still looked nice a day later (I did one tank in one session) . I guess it's all up to our personal way of working. Still: When I mess up with the palette and change colors half way through, I have to revisit the whole piece too :)

Yeah, I see what you mean and you're right. One thing I’ve leanred was not just “driving in” head first but making sure the pixels line up properly first. This hint of perspective in the image made things really difficult the longer I kept working at it.

And frankly I don't know whether it's a Matchbox or Hot Wheels car since but I know is that it's been around at least 20 to 25 years :)

”He slimed me!” nicely done, very well chosen palette.

Absolutely! Darn, I should’ve titled it “Truthiness to Power” ;)

Thanks pixelart_kid, I’m glad you like it. Several hours of fighting against three different lightsources on the face with my self-imposed color-restrictions really put me to the test ;)

thanks :) i was told i needed the preview otherwise pics exceeding 10kb won’t show up in the news feed or something. so it won’t be the last pointless preview you guys get from me -- bwa-ha-ha-ha!

very nice anti-aliasing btw!

Thanks! I doubt that color reduction would ever lead to something even barely nice. Probably one would need to tweak it so extensively that it’s always faster and nicer to manually push the pixels anyway…

hmmm... my take on this (and I could be completely wrong) concerns the size of the cloud-structure. on top it should be bigger, because we're looking straight up. the further down in the image (=the farther away from us) it should lose contrast and get smaller.

btw, i love how crisp the eyes are and the POV in general is very interesting!

aww, reminds me of the good old arcade days :) I'm just wondering where are all the 101 colors hiding in the image…

wow it's pretty nice for just 2 colors :)

Well, I guess I agree. The longer I look at it, the worse the palette looks to me

Thank you! Well, I picked my palette from a screengrab which really bit me in the ass a bit (wished for  2 more colors) but I think I won’t tamper with it any more now ;)

thanks very much! yes, I am still just experimenting with finding the perfect palette. It's hard to constrain myself because I want to keep adding and adding until a piece loses it's magic.

I just cleared my Firefox cache and now it looks as crisp as it should. Also checked with Chrome. But that's a strange phenomenon that never happened before... Why would Firefox make JPGs out of PNGs?! We’ll never know… Anyways sorry for any inconveniences my comments might have caused you!

The WIP looks fine indeed. Somewhere along the way your final was a JPG once. :(

I boosted the bightness so it's clearly visible: postimg.org/image/962ljvbk7/

Looks like this once was JPEG-compressed so there are a lot of funky pixels in the dark…
