I like how your sprites are like larger, more detailed versions of what they are based on.

I really wasn't putting this much thought into the colors I used. I wanted a colder purple, and a warmer green. I wanted the sprite to look sharp and dramatic, almost like 8-bit, so I used very vibrant shades(I was aiming for clashing, in other words). The green/purple color combo is one of my favorites since I was little, and both of those colors represent poison, to me...

Anyway, you obviously know a lot more about colors and pixel art than I do, and your examples are nice, but they don't exactly capture what I was going for. To me, anyway.

Do you have any advice on my dithering, or the cape, or the sheen on the horns? These are where I wish to improve. I could definitely learn a few more things about color, but I'm not worried about that so much right now, especially with this sprite. (And yes, I know the teeth are sort of messy)

Actually, the saturation was intended. I was going for the most vibrant colors with this one. The color scheme is inspired by this: http://images.wikia.com/megaman/images/1/1d/MMX3-TriadThunder-Sprite.png

I love how nobody here knows what this is. I personally LOVE 7th Dragon... You did a very good job here, but I wish I could see the other characters in your party so I could try to guess what classes they were.

Also, the battle screen reminds me of Final Fantasy Legend/2/3 on GB. Is that where you got the idea from?

If there is one thing to dislike about this, it's that I only found out the entrance was a dragon head/claws via the WIP. Really neat idea, but I guess you trashed it(for the most part) when you were doing the raging waves.

Anyway, this is remarkable. You are the best pixel artist I know of!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I know the tree could use some work, but I feel that my dithering effects were nice... That's what this piece was mainly practice for. I need more practice with trees. I really have no idea how to go about doing them. -__-

Wonderful, I love the 8-bit style. It looks great. The only thing I don't like is her right leg, it looks kind of twisted because you can't see any of the foot and there is no shin curve.

You -seriously- need to do some kind of tutorial or WIP of a tree. Your tree sprites(and all others actually) are absolutely astonishing.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I'm trying to figure out ways to go about it.

Man, I want to sprite trees better, but the randomness gets me everytime -__-

You really like the leaves? Thanks a bunch. They were my first ones.

Beautiful colors. I need to work on sky pixel art.

Yeah, I agree. I tried to keep it within a 100x100 range so I could use it as an avatar. And maybe some other unknown reason.
