Here's some more info on this character if you're interested! They've got a tag for him as well.

Ahaha thanks! I used the animal crossing emote as a reference

OH YOU. Thank. I like using more subdued colors.

There's no need to scale images up for pixeljoint; PJ has a built in zoom feature. Also, if the background doesnt contribute anything to the picture (as your white doesnt) it's generally better to just have the background transparent.

This is really pretty, great job!

There isn't really a need to have a scaled up version because pixeljoint has a built in zoom feature. Otherwise, this is pretty cool.

Thank you! I actually used the NES palette with this one, ahaha.

Nice AA job, and pretty picture overall!

This is really, really cool, but it would be a lot better with a transparent background instead of that eyeburning magenta.

FancyOctopus @ 3/13/2013 17:29 commented on Thiara Walking Cycle

This is an ok walk cycle, but it could be improved. When people walk their bodies move up and down slightly. Try walking yourself, you don't just move your legs back and forth like a robot, your whole body moves up and down with each step. Here's a tutorial on walk cycles so you can see what I mean.

I like the colors you used, especially for the hair!

Yeah, I see what you mean about the wings! It was around midnight that I finished this so I was understandably tired. I might work on the wings a little later today.

Thank you! The first one definitely had the most time put into it. The rest were freebies done for people on the Aywas forums; I guess I uninentionally put less work into those than I originally planned, probably because I got a little overwhelmed at all the pets I wanted to pixel. So I kind of rushed the rest :x

Those are my favorites too!

I agree that the swipe would look better if it was a bit brighter; I'm using a theme other than the default and I couldn't tell there was a swipe until I saw that comment.

These are really great, I especially love the Diglett evolution!

When I originally started pixelling that image, her legs went to the bottom of the canvas. However, as I pixelled I increased the size of the canvas and I was too lazy to flesh out the rest of her legs :B It was just a pixel doodle.

I didn't design the character, this is fanart of a character from a cheesy anime :B

FancyOctopus @ 6/21/2012 11:16 commented on Ant Golem

Your point is valid, I was going for an insectoid golem, not an earthy golem. I have a lot of trouble getting enough contrast in my pixel art. I'll probably edit this later and add some stronger shading and some highlights to the shell.

Thank you!

I've made it transparent. Thank you for pointing out those things! I'm familiar with those terms but I've still got a lot to learn, but that's why I'm here.

I had feeling I'd do something wrong with my first submission! If I were to either remove the background and make it transparent, or do something else for the background would it be acceptable?
