 I agree, it does have a somewhat sinister smile. And the reason I ask this stuff, Is I really enjoy the entire creative process of a piece. It's not just the end result, its how you got there and the things you come across while your working on it  + it really helps Sell a piece of art if it has a purpose, or at least exists in a fictional universe!  It makes it much more interesting IMO. 

Just incase you forget , still love this piece man, its great!

 Thats a pretty neat effect  You don't see too many people trying to recreate that sort of thing. animation is a little fast like you said, but its not bad.

 It does look a little floaty to me. Once you really study animation, you realize what gives everything its weight. Weight is one of the most important things in animation :) Considering youre new though, thats quite impressive! good job :P

 Pretty good piece, Is this for the weekly?

 The Character and animation is pretty good, the background is very distracting though. I would suggst a smaller, way less saturated backroung, or leave it transparent :) Good job!

 Cute platformer  I can only assume that the bottom red portion is a placeholder for the HUD/UI ?

The rock texture is pretty sweet, however, I find it a bit repetative. Also, the tops of the platforms lack any kind of texture hehe.

I really like the pose, and the style is quite interesting. The only thing that bothers me a little is the light source, the highlights are kind of inconsistant. The edge of the table is brighter than the top, which indicates the light source is near waist level, yet the tops of their heads are highlighted. Something to think about 
By no means does this mak eit a bad piece, I would suggest submitting it to the WIP forum and get some more opinions if your still not happy about it.

 OMG yes! so good 

 It is based off a 3D animation, but I fixed most of the frames pixel by pixel 

3D base is mostly just for reference, and it's a LOT easier to animate in 3D. I still had to make sure that there enough colors to read it as Lava, at pixel by pixel level (as it quite a small sprite).

There is even a motion blur effect by dithering at the edges of the fastest point in the drop.

Note: If i decreased it to about 6-8 frames of animation, It would probably not look like a 3D animation hehe.

 Yeah that knee is throwing me off, but besides that its pretty good :) I like the way you rendered her hair, its interesting.

 there are highlights on the leaves :P not very bright though. Unless you mean highlight the highlihghts so the highlights stand out from the other highlights... :D
