@NemukaH Hi!, I don’t know what to say; HLD's Kickstarter came out in September last year and we started our devlog on TIG forums in August. So for sure both teams were working without knowing that the other existed :)

I don’t know if we use the same references/ inspirations (would be great to ask them ^ ^) but for me, the main and strong art influence come from Sword & Sworcery.

And yeah, it was kind of minimal pixel art. but I still see a lot of different and cool styles within this ““category””, even if they share the pixel scale.

Games as HLD, Crawl, Super Time Force, Broforce, Zombie Night Terror (and so many others) have a really clear and recognizable style. Soooo, I don’t know, I just hope that this trend will last for a while, because I love it :)

Well, in fact, if you start to look at the details separatly you note a lot of weird pixel jumping ^__^U but I hope that, when the mech will move along the screen, these things will not be so visible ...The litte ventilation thingy [ \\\ ] and the little piece below the head, were the most obvious... I think it's better now.

But, sure, it can be improved and polished in a lot of ways.

@_Connor ahhhh Shadow Complex..great game, I'll never know why this went so unnoticed.. Anyway, I would like to see what that inspiration brings to your 3D practices :D

Well, I see your point but it's always the same when there is a big boom like the indies are experiencing these days. As a gamer, for me is just fantastic because I love them and there is more to pick between. As a developer, it's very difficult to stick out when the market is so saturated. But anyone can try to make their dreams come true, no matter what, and here we are :) 
 
Personally, I enjoy Path to the Sky's style and I can’t wait to play it. I don’t have a problem with the influence/inspiration from FEZ (or not), because FEZ was incredibly beautiful and I enjoyed it as a 7-year-old kid :)
 
Anyway, super glad that a critic person as you like our game!!!

@nedink yep, in fact, we have already implemented it, just need a little more work on the values to get the right feeling. For the sky, we would also like to have a smooth animation in the clouds but we must think about how to do that.
