Your first attempt? Damn, I'd never have been able to guess. You seem to have saved it in the wrong format, though-you have lots and lots of (duplicate) colours. (601 according to PJ specs.)

As to my own prom, didn't even bother going. Mind, it's not nearly as big a thing here as in the USA, but even if it was, I still wouldn't have.

Ego: Thanks! Yeah, the texture's pretty noisy. Kind of has to be if I want to both keep the resemblance of "dog" and "mountain". Else I either get a weird-shaped but not all that canine heap-o'-stone or a grey doggie.

I intend to keep it at this size, I think.

If I blow it up, it'd be at most at 2x (where I feel the resemblence is still fairly strong even in current form) though if I do so, yeah, it'd need a little bit of cleaning indeed.

If I end up 2x-ing it, I'd probably ought to apply a tad more AA to some of the outline, too. Looks fair enough in 1x, but a bit too jaggy in some spots for my tastes (even for a rock) in 2x or beyond.

Composition and such looks pretty good ('though you have some jaggies, most of the noticable ones in the big text), but you're using far more (near-identical) colours than is needed. You've got 87 different colours here when you need only maybe 8-10 at most and possibly as few as 6.

Yeah, they do. They're meant to be a bit messy, though not as messy as they ended up being. Pretty happy with the sky, though. =)

And aye, Spectrum-Star, some AA wouldn't be amiss, I guess, though I'd first need to re-teach myself how, since all my attempts ended up making the thing look worse not better.

However, that one white pixel near the corner of his right eye (viewer's left) seems out of place and is a bit distracting.
