Topic: Schrodinger's Envelope

A forum with no new activity is a closed envelope.

A forum with new activity is an open envelope with stuff hanging out.

---

An unread (new) private message is a closed envelope.

A read (no longer new) private message is an open envelope with stuff hanging out.

What am I supposed to believe is inside these closed envelopes, and why are they allowed to be inconsistent? They have run rampant for too long, I say!

You see!? If we do not change our evil ways, the envelopes will turn into boxes and then cats will wander into the boxes, and then we'll never know if we'll have cats again! Save the cats!

But, for realsies, can someone fix the private message envelopes so they're consistent with the ones for the forum? Or give me a really good reason why they should be different? I know it's not a big deal, but it's confusing. D:

They are different because the gallery and the forum use different apps that don't play well together : /
