So I was gonna write something heartfelt and then I tried to use this stupid palette and now I just hate him.
I kid, of course. It was a bit of a bear realizing that the green absolutely should not be an AA color between the red and blue, but otherwise it actually wasn't too bad. I'm aware of numerous little issues here, not the least of which is that the 10 on the canvas isn't really in the same perspective as the canvas itself. I wanted to go with a painting theme because of all of jal's really gorgeous Master Painter mockups, and the palette in the other hand is meant to be a slight reference to the preview frame for that series.
So, my message. Jal, you've been a really important part to my continuing career as a pixel artist. I don't put out work very often, but I can always count on your support, and your appreciation of my critique work gave me the confidence in my pixel art teaching ability to even consider writing Learning Pixel Art. I'm a better artist and a better writer and, frankly, a better community member because of you. And that's just how you've benefited me personally - even more than that, you've done amazing work keeping this community at the top of the pixel art world. There's no other place quite like PJ, and I don't think it's really possible to overstate your contributions to making it so. Thanks man. Here's to another ten years!
(oh, and Lakelezz you can use this in that collage)
EDIT: Woah, I'm the 100,000th pixel! Rockin'. |
