Beautifully drawn, saw this via pinterest, great colouring, rendering.
Huge thanks for that (and for palette because I have some problem to create it myself), soon I gonna remake my old shooter game and that work well inspired me
Truly horrifying boss, but the player ship is boring... how come you went with such a simple design with the player ship?
@ Zarto
Quite a compliment! Thank you very, very much, man!
@ orange
Cheers, buddy! Means a lot coming from you. :)
@ dpixel
Glad to hear that! Thank you very much. :)
@ bobo
Hehe, thank you man! Really appreciate it.
It becomes a pile of ash sooner or later anyway, why bother?
Yeah, that's a pretty good Idea. Some greens here and there would certainly be a good way to make the pick ups stand out more.
@ Emperor_Pixel
I was hoping for a comment from you! Glad you do, thanks a ton. :)
@ AirStyle
Should be more, it's a shmup after all ;)
Thanks, mate.
@ Mr_Hk_
That means a lot coming from you, buddy. Thanks a lot!
I didn't keep playability in mind, something I should add to my next mockup. :)
@ showtime
Glad you like it. Thank you very much.
What an interesting comparison! The movie was quite fucked up to be honest, however, a pretty interesting story.
@ Pix. Ed.
That's a great comment, thanks a lot. I'm glad to read that it looks different from other stuff and that you might be able to learn something from it.
I always strive to create distinctive looking pixels.:)
@ Finlal
I would if it wasn't for the time issue. Thanks again.
Some really great ideas here and lovely pixeling. Love the hud design.
Very well done! Why do you hate the player ship so much through? It could use a little love, too
My favorite part are the bullets and how well they stand out
After that the enemies of course but I also really like your HUD and typo. The background is also nice for what it is.
I would have added a few of the more vibrant colors to the collectable to make it stand out more from the enemies, through.
Just the player ship..
Whew, there's a lot going on here, but it's all amazing! Very nice work!
Uber cool mood and ultra readable palette !
Awesomeness made squares.
My only complain would be regarding the ship size and shape : It suggests a HUUUGE hitbox and a slow paced gameplay, which I hate as a manic shmup fan =)
This is amazing! Teach me your ways!
Fleshy spaceship reminds me of some stuff from eXistenZ.
Masterful use of color and light. Forms are smooth and organic. Pretty unique way of doing lighting effects with particles (at least I havent seen that elsewhere). Many unexpected ways of doing things that work suprisingly well. Pixeling at its finest. A piece to learn much from. Thanks for sharing.
I think you can find yourself a good programmer really fast with such graphics.
@ Cynips
Always a joy to read you comments, mate! Glad you like it, thanks a ton. :)
@ Mac 'n Cheese
Thank you very much, man! I'd love to see that I bet it would turn out fantastic.
Great, share it with us if you decide on doing it!
@ Finlal
Thanks a ton, buddy! Just a mockup, I have got no idea how to code.
@ feiss
Great you like it, man. Thank you.
Yeah, I kept the form and look of the ship pretty simple.
@ SnowOwl
Haha, thanks! I would, but I can't even code one single line.
@ hostile
I'm glad to hear that! Feel free to use them if you like :)
Thanks a bunch.
The bullets and their effects are eye candy. I always wanted to make a top down space shooter game, but I got stuck on creating large backgrounds and programing AI. I'm not a great coder. Very cool piece dude. I want to do a large space background now.
@Mandrill this is really well done! what I see weird is that banding on top of the middle eye of the hive mother, also, wanted to ask you, how do you make your palletes?
This dark alien style would do the top down shooter genre an amazing favour. Amazing work.
Holy hell, Mandrill!
Is it from a real thing or just a mockup?
Amazing! I'm not very fond of the player's ship, but man that is one fabulous big boss.. Gorgeous job
Thank you very much, glad you like it. :)
