I love everything here, one of my favorite pieces of all time!
Another stunning piece!
I agree with the contrast through
@Opacus - Yes, you are probably right. And I would have done something like this if it was for a few colors more than in a challenge :) Thank you!
I think it's also partly due to the colours. Maybe give the characters their own palette with more vibrance, that way you get a clear seperation from the background. It's also what they do in Metal Slug:

You can see how the soldier's green is way more vibrant than the green in the background, and the player's red jacket standing out. You'd lose the 16 color limit, but the piece will probably be better for it. It also makes sense in the setting of a game. The characters usually don't share colours with the background, since the characters are used consistently throughout the game.
That's kind of a nitpick though. Besides that this is some really great stuff. Enjoying all the little details and the palette is great :)
Your use of color is phenomenal. Everything looks very smooth and every pixel is in the right place. Great stuff.
@Stickman - I agree, it's probably more due to the amount of details on the background. Thank you!
It's like cat meets metal slug! I really like the backgrounds. My only nitpick is that the character sprites are a bit hard to make out against the background.
Very nice! I love the background o_o
And yes, could use a bit more contrast :)
@Adam - Yes, of course - I see a lot of things can be modified. I'm just a little late only started working at the end of the week. Thank you! )
Wonderful details!
Have you considered increasing the foreground contrast? The palette looks a bit too washed out for me.
@iLKke - We will make a two sequels in different genres, after some project ;) Thank you!
Wonderful work!
Also now I realise you made Knight's Rush! Really loved the graphics in that game.
@waynaul - Thank you! It would be ideal not to see the game tiles in real game. That was my plan in this case :) I think it's the only way to achieve full of the atmosphere of presence.
I love it all and the cats are real cute but the frog does rule the land.
@Drazelic - Thank you! I could squeeze much more with more time :)
Thank you guys!
@Mandrill - ya, I like him too more than the others ) He is the shopkeeper, and the ginger kitten just stole a fish from him, for which he paid one HP :)
@Lucas- Thank you very much!
