Ahh I knew I could count on you for some insightful critique, thank you Cyangmou
I think the helm is outstanding. Well I really love classic armets, but you know that anyways.
You also know that I love this stuff, that's why I am being a bit harsh here with armor details =)
Seems also like the armet piece was quite exactly drawn after reference, while you took much more "liberty" with the other parts or used refs which didn't align perspectivically.
What really bugs is the perspective of the other parts. Each part on it's own is really well drawn, but actually a ton of angles there are off and it lacks consistency as whole. Esp the cast shadow is really way off.
If you lay some perspective lines through the helmet, both round pieces of the cape, the points of the tassets, the point of the poleyns etc. you will see where you are off.
Other things which bug me are some things with the armor proportion, the elbow pieces seem to not let the arm fully bend, the gauntlets are really small, fi you consider the hands have to fit in.
The sideplate of the poleyns seems to be too strongly lit.
The form of the front tasset appears inverted esp. considering the strong spine-arch of the rear one in perspective
The edges of the cuisses seem highly impractical for battle.
Mail is actually a ton thicker, esp. if you have a maximillian cuirass which practically doesn't stop arrows.
Also you really should take a closer look at Zweihänder. They are pointy, get slightly thinner to the point and the leather wrapped piece in the middle is actually part of the blade.
On another note on the sword, it seems to be really bad, because it looks bend, the crossbar and pommel perspective don't align, and the crossbars together aren't in perspective either.
Still great work. Love it :D
Interesting design to add fluting to a typically white plate armor. It's like a gothic take on Italian armor almost like maximillian. Nice design.
God, I just absolutely love that area around the neck, with the curves of the cape and the red backlighting. So much DEPTH.
Instantly recognized ur sexy style from the preview.
Always a pleasure to see ur awesome work.
More please!!
dam son....
the piece is very good
only bother would be the cape not feeling very smooth, but it still is pretty good
Somehow I knew it was you, not Cyang. Creat sprite, I especially like chainmail texture.
Well done! Looks very realistic, like it could be used as an illustration in an encyclopedia
Absolutely outstanding work, buddy! Can't believe how good the shading looks.
Hehe, yeah it's not fair that he gets to do big juicy sprites all by himself :P
Thanks fellas
Impressive.
I am probably looking at the Top Pixel Art of February.
That shiny armor is pretty nifty looking. Really awesome actually.
Man this is awesome, terrific work on that metal, the details are also spot on!
